Why Our Internships Rock
ShawnEdgington.com is a forward thinking company started by Shawn after her 16-year-old daughter was harassed and threatened by text and on Facebook. Why you? We love giving teens a way to speak up and help their fellow teens… because we think teens have the best ideas, advice and insight!
Get Writing Experience: Our interns will get writing experience blogging for us. We teach real lessons on writing in a digital environment and offer great real world experience that is difficult to find elsewhere. Who knows, maybe you can get extra credit from one of your teachers for your work?
Build Your Resume: We know that getting into a University or getting a job is becoming more and more competitive; we want to give our teen interns a unique edge to their resume.
Future Recommendations: A written recommendation is invaluable. For those interns that achieve excellence throughout their internship, Shawn will be happy to write a recommendation for your college application, other jobs, or specific programs you want to apply for.
Make A Name For Yourself: For writers, our internship is a way to start getting your name and ideas out there. We have many publishers, authors, companies, non-profits, producers and editors who scout for teens with writing skills on our blog.
Chance to Network: Because we have so many corporate readers and marketers who visit our blog, we get requests for our teen writers to get paid to write for other publications or do focus groups. We love to pass these opportunities onto our teens, giving you the opportunity to network and get paid.
